At age twelve, styling flowers into a hand-tied bridal bouquet,    Derrick began working with flowers. 
Since that time, his designs are now a key feature in industry showrooms, in corporate towers, and at society events. His works attract high acclaim for being integral to the setting and not merely a backdrop.
His talent has gone further than the small town in Newfoundland, where he began his apprenticeship over twenty-five years ago. 
Derrick has designed for royalty, heads of state, and celebrities with the same flair he uses in design consultation at many of Toronto's finest floral shops and event studios.
Often referred to as the "...floral industries own Simon Cowell..", his wit, humor and affable manner keep in demand; and his two chihuahuas - Daisy & Rose keep him grounded and amused!
